Support WNC
Asheville and the larger Western North Carolina region have been our beloved home away from home. Our hearts are broken by the devastation and its effect on the incredible people and community of Asheville and Western NC.
At this time, in lieu of contributions to the registry, we’d be grateful for any support to go directly to this place we love. We’ve collected a few links to organizations that need support and that are directly involved in recovery efforts.
NC Disaster Relief Fund - United Way of NC is the fiscal agent coordinating relief; donations made will be distributed according to priority and need
Or, consider giving directly to the United Way of Asheville-Buncombe County
The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina has a specific fund set up for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts
All Hands and Hearts - This volunteer-driven organization collaborates with local communities to rebuild schools, homes, and infrastructure.
World Central Kitchen - José Andrés and his teams are on the ground after disasters, setting up kitchens to serve meals to victims and responders.
BeLoved Asheville - A local non-profit whose volunteers are working tirelessly to provide support to those affected.
Additionally, we’re still receiving updates from our beloved local area businesses. We know of at least one that has been decimated by the flooding:
Plēb Urban Winery, based in the River Arts District and what was to be the host of our Welcome Party. We’re sharing a verified gofundme page to support their owner Chris (who we had the pleasure of meeting multiple time) and their wonderful staff as they recover from the devastation.
